SECOND MEETING FROJOL IN BILBAO

Freestyle Montessori on the job learning, FROJOL held its second meeting in Bilbao (Spain) from 18  to 20 January. The steering board agrees with the agenda and the social program. ·        The partners give an update about the activities carried out between the kick-off meeting in December and this one: mainly related to the research on Montessori schools and methodologies. All the Montessori schools feel very enthusiastic about this project and want to be kept informed.

The steering board discussed about the target group for the new learning methodology and agreed on focusing on VET teachers  and trainers.  Every partner country gave a short presentation of their national researches and it was decided to update and complete the result as soon as possible. There were important discussions related to VET and how to design an efficient method for adults, according to Montessory principles. 

Dissemination and exploitation of the project have been debated too; Tools have been presented and will allow partners to start their dissemination and exploitation activities. 

The framework for possible FROJOL learning assignments was presented to partners.  This framework will be modified by partners as needed during the development of the assignments. The aim of FROJOL is to inform trainers how they can use Montessori to improve On the Job Training, but the challenge is to provide something that will really convince trainers at the first workshop. We agreed on the fact that something in the method or manual should take into account the needs for different age groups because  individuality or age groups need and respond to different stimulus. 

 The future meeting dates are planned as following: a -specialists’team at February 22,23 and 24 2012 in IT  and perhaps also on June 17 and 18 in AT; the steering team will meet in June 20, 21 and 22  in AT and in 2013 June 5, 6 and 7  in Bordeaux FR. 

 At the fourth meeting held in Bordeaux, ES and NL partners will present their description of curricula to the partnership.

There was also a social part of the meeting. Partners visited the old city of Bilbao .
